PROMOTIONS

Festival Promotions galore

Colour streamers for various festival occasions such as Ganesh Chaturthi, Durga Pooja and Diwali adorned dealer showrooms across the country. Festival gates with Videocon, Toshiba and Kenwood branding created a magnificent presence for these brands through out the festival season.

Videocon Movie Sponsorhips

Dil Se
During September '98, Videocon sponsored the nationwide promotion of the internationally acclaimed movie Dil Se, directed by Mani Ratnam and produced by Bharat Shah. Large colour advertisements in the mainline dailies and magazines showed the Videocon CTV range with scenes from the film appearing on the TV screens. The entire promotional exercise was appreciated by all as a landmark in brand promotion.

China Gate
Toshiba sponsored the Hindi film China Gate, the greatest movie of the century. The movie was released in Mumbai on November 26 and the world premiere was held on November 27.

Dedicated to the world renowned film maker Akira Kurosawa, Toshiba plans to release the dubbed version of China Gate in Japan as well. For Toshiba, the choice of China Gate was natural, since it found many parallels with the movie. Such as technical excellence and the finest digital technology ever used in Hindi films.

Dr. Dolittle
On October 23 Videocon sponsored the hilarious children's favourite Dr. Dolittle which was released in Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Calcutta, Bangalore, Hyderabad & Pune. The movie has the funny guy Eddie Murphy as Dr. Dolittle, who has the uncanny ability to understand animal talk: resulting in rip roaring laughter right from start to end.

The X-Files
FBI agents Mulder and Scully are back, but this time, on the big screen in The X-Files – the movie sponsored by Videocon. The nationwide launch on November 20 saw these diehard investigators race against time to save mankind from total destruction.

The Edge
The Edge – a wild life adventure thriller sponsored by Videocon was released in Mumbai on October 2. This movie starring Anthony Hopkins and Alec Baldwin in a lifetime best performance, was acclaimed as "the best movie to date" by film critic Joanna Langfield of The Movie Minute.
