Colour streamers
for various festival occasions such as Ganesh Chaturthi, Durga Pooja and
Diwali adorned dealer showrooms across the country. Festival gates with Videocon,
Toshiba and Kenwood branding created a magnificent presence for these brands
through out the festival season.

Dil Se
During September '98, Videocon sponsored the nationwide
promotion of the internationally acclaimed movie Dil Se, directed by Mani
Ratnam and produced by Bharat Shah. Large colour advertisements in the mainline
dailies and magazines showed the Videocon CTV range with scenes from the
film appearing on the TV screens. The entire promotional exercise was appreciated
by all as a landmark in brand promotion.
China Gate
Toshiba
sponsored the Hindi film China Gate, the greatest movie of the century. The
movie was released in Mumbai on November 26 and the world premiere was held
on November 27.
Dedicated
to the world renowned film maker Akira Kurosawa, Toshiba plans to release
the dubbed version of China Gate in Japan as well. For Toshiba, the choice
of China Gate was natural, since it found many parallels with the movie.
Such as technical excellence and the finest digital technology ever used
in Hindi films.
Dr. Dolittle
On October
23 Videocon sponsored the hilarious children's favourite Dr. Dolittle which
was released in Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Calcutta, Bangalore, Hyderabad &
Pune. The movie has the funny guy Eddie Murphy as Dr. Dolittle, who has the
uncanny ability to understand animal talk: resulting in rip roaring laughter
right from start to end.
The X-Files
FBI agents
Mulder and Scully are back, but this time, on the big screen in The X-Files
the movie sponsored by Videocon. The nationwide launch on November
20 saw these diehard investigators race against time to save mankind from
total destruction.
The Edge
The
Edge a wild life adventure thriller sponsored by Videocon was released
in Mumbai on October 2. This movie starring Anthony Hopkins and Alec Baldwin
in a lifetime best performance, was acclaimed as "the best movie to date"
by film critic Joanna Langfield of The Movie Minute.
Toshiba - with love from
Japan
A powerful
nationwide promotional customer campaign for the Toshiba range was unleashed
in October '98. Attractive Diamond, Gold Galore and Silver Surprise packages
were offered to customers. These packages comprising various Toshiba colour
TVs along with a Refrigerator, Washing Machine or a Microwave Oven were indeed
unique.
