The Aesthetic Prerogative for Your Air Conditioner
Air conditioners can be aesthetically camouflaged to sport sleek and upbeat décor options. Here's how…

Air conditioners are the ultimate in fulfilling simple luxuries in life. Air conditioning units help with spot cooling areas and are an important tool in your overall home environment plan. Their placement in the overall scheme of décor is as important as perhaps any other design element that you may consider, for e.g., your window treatments, your ceiling and flooring options and the like.

While we are all aware that air conditioning units come in various tonnage and types - window ACs, split units and even portable units, they can be either concealed or left exposed to the naked eye. However, the one thing about this luxurious option that is as distinctive as the appliance itself is that each air conditioner has distinct criteria for inclusion in the existing or proposed scheme of décor; Also, the nature of this appliance is such that people do not mind leaving it exposed. But then one does not wish to flaunt his range of home appliances does one? Hence aesthetics are an important consideration here. Let us tell you how you can elegantly dress your ACs such that your interior remains cool to your satisfaction and your AC is absolutely hidden from view…

Here are some handy hints:
  • If you are using a split unit that happens to be positioned right in the middle of your bedroom or living room, try camouflaging it with a planter box! But make sure you use artificial plants there or chose a creeper that can adjust to the temperature and atmosphere indoors.
  • If your air conditioning unit happens to be positioned above a door - create an additional door design that camouflages it. You can even use carvings and the like if your interior sports a traditional décor.
  • A floor mounted unit can be easily concealed behind a louvered shutter in synch with the rest of the cabinetry or may even be concealed behind a large stone sculpture or artificial tree.
  • Unfortunately window units cannot be camouflaged - just aesthetically covered with suitable drapes!
A beautifying grill is generally the key camouflaging factor and this also caters to the basic need of air circulation with respect to the system in use.
