India-Pak-Australia to play Videocon Cup in Holland

INDIA-PAK-AUSTRALIA TO PLAY VIDEOCON CUP IN HOLLAND

The fabulous Videocon Cup, made in Melbourne, Australia; the trophy is made of a combination of polished stainless steel, glass, and oak wood.

India, Pakistan and Australia gear up for a triangular contest at Amsterdam in August as a part of their preparations for the ICC Champions trophy 2004 scheduled in England in September.

The triangular contest would be named after its title sponsor the Videocon Cup 2004 and the television rights to the matches belong to Sony Entertainment Television.

“The Indian team had a lay off since mid-April and the Asia Cup was the first tournament that it played. With the ICC Champions Trophy coming up in England, it is necessary for the team to acclimatize with the European conditions and this is why we are keen to play the Videocon Cup”, Jagmohan Dalmiya, the President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said in a media meet.

The matches in the Videocon Cup would be as follows:

Saturday 21st August - India vs. Pakistan

Monday 23rd August - India vs. Australia

Wednesday 25th August - Australia vs. Pakistan

Saturday 28th August - Final
